Care Instructions – Diamond Bond Oregon

Diamond Bond Oregon

Complete Care & Cleaning Instructions

One page. Every surface. Keep your Diamond Bond treatment performing beautifully for years to come.

Important: Diamond Bond sealants create a powerful, non-stick molecular barrier — but they are not a substitute for regular maintenance. Following the guidelines below protects your investment and extends the life of your treatment. When in doubt, use Diamond Bond Cleaner & Revitalizer — it’s formulated specifically for treated surfaces. For other compatible cleaning options, see our product picks.

Shower Glass

After Every Use

Daily Routine

Squeegee or wipe down the shower glass after every use. This single habit dramatically extends the life of your sealant and prevents mineral deposits from forming.

Bi-Weekly Deep Clean

At least once every two weeks, clean the shower glass using Diamond Bond Cleaner and Revitalizer with a #98 scrub pad (available from us) or exfoliating gloves found at most pharmacies.

✓ Approved Cleaners
  • Diamond Bond Cleaner & Revitalizer
  • Windex
  • Clorox Bathroom Cleaners
  • Denatured alcohol
  • Natural cleaning products
✗ Never Use
  • Abrasive cleaners or pads
  • Acidic cleaners (vinegar-based, CLR, Tilex)
  • Steel wool or harsh scrubbers

Granite & Travertine

Wipe Spills Immediately

Daily Cleaning Method

Use a microfiber cloth with a small amount of mild dish soap and warm water. Wring the cloth so it is barely damp, wipe the surface, then immediately follow with a clean dry microfiber cloth to remove any moisture and streaking.

Spill Response

Wipe up spills immediately — especially vinegar-based foods, fruit juices, tomato products, and anything high in citric acid. These are the primary enemies of your sealed stone surface.

✓ Best Practices
  • Use cutting boards for high-acid foods
  • Use trivets for hot items from oven
  • Mild, unscented dish soap only
  • Diamond Bond Cleaner & Revitalizer
✗ Never Do
  • Dish soaps with lemon or citrus scents (contain citric acid)
  • Acidic or vinegar-based cleaners
  • Abrasive cleaners or scrubbers
  • Commercial “revitalizers” or re-sealants
  • Place hot pans directly on surface
  • Prep high-acid foods without a cutting board

Ceramic Tile & Grout

Mild Cleaners Only

Regular Cleaning

Clean sealed ceramic tile and grout with a mild cleanser such as Diamond Bond Cleaner and Revitalizer. Read the label on any cleaners you plan to use — if you have a cleaning service, set out the approved products you want them to use.

✓ Safe Cleaners
  • Diamond Bond Cleaner & Revitalizer
  • Mild, pH-neutral cleaning products
  • Non-abrasive soft brushes or cloths
✗ Never Use
  • Ajax, Comet, or Bon-Ami (abrasive)
  • Tilex or CLR (acidic)
  • Any highly abrasive cleaner or scrubbing pad
  • Acidic or bleach-heavy cleaners
Tip for homeowners with cleaning services: Set out your approved Diamond Bond products before cleaners arrive. Many commercial cleaning products contain acids or abrasives that will strip your sealant.

Marble & Natural Stone

Low pH Cleaners

Approved Cleaning Method

Use a low pH natural stone cleaner — available at most big box stores, stone fabricators, and hardware stores. You can also browse our recommended product picks for options we’ve vetted for sealed stone. These products are generally sold as concentrates to be mixed with water; follow the instructions on the container. They are specifically formulated to clean without damaging the protective sealant.

Prevention

Wipe up spills immediately. Use coasters under glasses and store cooking oils, soaps, and similar products in trays rather than placing them directly on the stone surface.

✓ Best Practices
  • Low pH natural stone cleaner
  • Coasters under glasses and bottles
  • Trays under soaps and oils
  • Immediate spill cleanup
✗ Never Use
  • Vinegar or vinegar-based cleaners
  • Acidic or citrus-based products
  • Abrasive cleaners or scrubbers
  • Any natural acidic product
Remember: Marble is calcium-based and highly reactive to acid. Even natural products like lemon juice or vinegar can cause permanent etching and discoloration.

Porcelain

Weekly Cleaning

Toilets, Sinks, Tubs & Bidets

Use a #98 scrub pad or nylon scrub brush in conjunction with Diamond Bond Cleaner & Revitalizer or a mild cleaner of your choice. Clean these surfaces at least weekly. Regular maintenance with mild cleaners is necessary to achieve the best long-term results — the sealant creates a non-stick surface, but buildup can still occur without consistent care.

✓ Approved Tools & Cleaners
  • Diamond Bond Cleaner & Revitalizer
  • #98 scrub pad
  • Nylon scrub brush
  • Mild, non-acid, non-abrasive cleaners
✗ Never Use
  • Abrasive cleaners (Ajax, Comet, Bon-Ami)
  • Acidic bowl cleaners
  • Steel wool or hard-bristle brushes
  • Bleach tablets dropped in tanks (constant contact degrades sealant)

Windows & Exterior Glass

Twice-Yearly Pro Clean

Regular Maintenance

Clean your exterior windows regularly with Diamond Bond Cleaner and Revitalizer or other approved products. Regular cleaning is critical to maintaining their clarity and shine — Oregon’s rain and mineral-rich runoff can quickly degrade the surface without consistent care.

Professional Cleaning

We recommend having your exterior glass professionally cleaned at least twice a year. Professional cleaning removes environmental buildup that routine wiping cannot address, and helps preserve the integrity of your Diamond Bond sealant.
